"You can't do this!" Annabelle LeValle growled at the tribunal.
"Stand down, Captain, if you wish to keep your comission." One of the holographic military representatives ordered. They were briefing Captain LeValle in her annual performance review on the Moon. They were also on the Moon, and Annabelle knew that they could have easily done this in person.
She also knew they were doing this like they were in an effort to teach the Captain humility. That despite her opinion of herself, this was the best they were willing to do for her. Holographs.
"Capturing Hart is my life's goal! You cannot take me off this mission!" LeValle said in a slightly panicked voice.
"Can and have, Captain." Another General said. "It is in Mamba hands now, as it should have been long ago. Be happy that we are allowing you to remain Captain of the Heart Breaker. Especially given your recent...failures."
They were looking at her artificial hand. LeValle could tell.
"I can do better. I know I can." She replied desperately. "Please."
"We have recieved information, Captain. If you press this matter further, we are fully within our abilities to enforce medical leave for you due to mental instability." An Admiral replied. "Do not press your luck."
Annabelle's expression was stoic. She bowed her head. "I understand, sirs. is there anything else?"
"No. Report back to your ship and have it report for caravan guarding duties. You are dismissied." The hologram faded.
LeValle stood there for a moment, trying to keep her cool, fighting as hard as she could to avoid exploding in rage.
It did not work.
By the time she had left the conference room, it was in shambles, and rather than her mechanical arm, her hook was on prominent display.
The Government would see the error of its ways soon, she reasoned inwardly.
And if it did not, there were so many other ways to deal with it.
