The security in the installation was a joke. Besides the occasional Mamba, the forces were actually quite light, and most barriers were placed such that an outside force could easily break through them if they needed to.
Hart did not quite put two and two together at first, the the secret lab, deep beneath the crushing atmosphere of Titan, had not been designed with keeping things out in mind.
It had very much been built with the idea that something needed to be kept in.
Hart, flanked by her best men, Andromeda in the center of them, and Anton in chains in front of Josetta, being kicked and prodded to the center of the research facility on a moon that was no supposed to have human life.
"You're making a big mistake, Jo. Clara will kill us all if she gets loose." Dr. LeValle warned. That warning fell on deaf ears and earned him a boot to the back of the knee.
Eventually, they reached the sealed, airlock style door that marked the entrance to Project Savage's enclosure.
Before Hart could finish the words, "Open it." the metal door smashed open, and out stepped Clara.
"Hello Daddy." She said, smirking both predatorially and triumphantly. She casually raised a hand and a hurricane force wind that sent the pirates stumbling and flying unceremoniously down the hall. Hart, thinking quickly, pulled out her sword, grabbed Andi's arm, and anchored herself and the doctor into the wall with the humming, glowing blade until the wind died down.
"I've waited sixteen years for this day." The cat-like girl purred. "You, at my mercy." She stepped forward and licked her lips. "Oh, but it can't be too fast. You deserve something nice and slow. Painful. Brutal."
She is my daughter! Thought Hart. "Clara? Clara sweetie, is that you?"
And then Clara turned, and, for the first time, actually saw Josetta Hart.
"N-no....it...it can't be." She said, stumbling over words. Kill her! She left you with that bastard! She could have saved you at any time! Kill the bitch! "You...you're..."
"I am." Jo said, smiling and tearful. "Oh, baby, I've been looking for you so long. I never stopped looking."
"Mommy?" She asked. The voices inside faded away, violence and murder replaced by hope. "You came for me?"
"I did, angel. I did. And I finally found you." Hart sheathed her sword.
Clara stared in indecision for several moments before the tiger-like girl ran and leapt into her mother's arms, crying tears of joy she never thought she could. "I thought you left me here! I thought..."
"No, my dear, darling Clara. Never. He took you from me. He tried to keep you from me forever but I...I never..." They were both sobbing joyfully now. The crew, who had managed to only suffer minor injuries, were a bit startled, and a bit relieved that the small mage was no longer attacking them.
"But...what about Daddy?" Clara asked suddenly.
"I was thinking about selling him into slavery to someone really mean." Jo replied.
"Can I maul him before you do?"
"Oh, angel, what sort of mother would I be if I said no to that?"
"You really are my Mommy." Clara said, hugging her tightly again. Jo just laughed and held her back.
"C'mon, sweetie, let's get you to my ship. You can meet all my crew and all my friends and my other daughter." Jo said cheerily.
"...you replaced me?" Clara asked suddenly. The air became very warm, and her eyes very brightly glowing.
"Of course not, angel. Why would I keep looking for you if I had replaced you?" Hart replied, not caring about the anger or possible supernatural backlash.
Project Savage, aka Clara Hart, thought about that, smiled, and hugged her mother again while they, and the crew, dragged Anton back to the ship in chains, ready to start a new life together.
